Since graduating from The London Film School in 1972, Nikolay (a.k.a. Nikolai) Volev has worked in the film industry as a writer, director, producer and actor.

His most notable film, “Margarit and Margarita” was selected for participation at the 1990 Cannes International Film Festival, in the Directors Fortnight section, and was subsequently shown at twelve international film festivals, including Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, etc.

His better known other films are “All for Love” (Special Jury Prize and Don Quixote Award at Karlovy Vary Film Festival, 1985) and “The Goat Horn” (1994), winning four international awards, and shown worldwide at the film festivals in Venice, San Jose, Edinburgh, Istanbul, etc.

His latest film “Off the Road” (in postproduction) is scheduled for distribution towards the end of 2016. His current project in development (writer, director and producer) is “Thy Name is Woman”.
